Choosing a Horse-Drawn Hearse
Each of our horse-drawn hearses has glass sides of handcrafted etched glass, giving a clear view of the coffin throughout the journey. Every carriage is carefully inspected before the day of the funeral.
You can choose the colour of the hearse, the horses that draw it, and the plumes and drapes they wear.
Mourners' Carriages
Close family can follow in one of our two mourners' carriages, in black or white, which seat up to five people and have convertible roofs. We can also provide a modern luxury vehicle for mourners instead.
Our Black, White and Silver Hearses

The black hearse
The traditional horse-drawn hearse: black, with etched glass and ornate detail along the roof. It can be drawn by black Friesians for a fully black procession, or by white Irish Sport horses for contrast.

The white hearse
White from roof to wheels. White horses give a soft, light procession, and black Friesians a striking contrast.

The silver hearse
Silver from roof to wheels, with etched glass along its sides. It looks well behind black Friesians, as a pair or a team.
A Pair of Horses or a Team
Any of the three can be drawn by a pair of horses, or by a team of four or six for a fuller procession. Choose black Friesians, white Irish Sport horses, or a domino team that mixes the two.
The Rainbow Hearse
For a funeral full of colour, our Rainbow Hearse is purpose-built and painted by a local artist.
